Pick the problem that sounds like your site. Each one shows how to find the cause and check that the fix worked.

## Start with the problem.

The questions conversion teams ask most often, and how Cuttl answers each one.

### Traffic is steady, but conversions aren’t

Funnels find the step where visitors drop off. Recordings show why.

### Something is broken, and nobody has reported it

Rage clicks, dead clicks and errors, ranked by severity, with how many sessions each affects.

### Two ideas for a page, and no way to choose

Run an A/B test and see which version converts better.

### Visitors start the form but don’t finish it

See the exact field where people hesitate or quit.

### Slow pages may be costing conversions

Core Web Vitals from real visitors, next to the pages they leave.

### A change went live. Did it help?

Cuttl compares before and after, no A/B test needed.

### The main call to action is being missed

Heatmaps show where attention goes and where reading stops.

### More data than time to review it

Problems ranked by severity, plus answers in Claude or ChatGPT.

## What each tool does.

What each one shows, when to use it, and a guide if you want the detail.

### What is a heatmap?

A picture of your page coloured by attention. Warm colours show where lots of people click or stop; cool colours show what they skip. A scroll map shows how far down people get before they leave.

### What is a session recording?

A replay of one real session, like looking over a visitor’s shoulder: where they moved, what they clicked, where they got stuck. Passwords and form entries are hidden automatically.

### What is an A/B test?

A fair way to compare two versions of a page. Visitors are split at random, so the only difference between the groups is your change, and Cuttl tells you when one version clearly wins.

### What is a funnel?

The steps people take to do something, like product page, cart, checkout, paid. A funnel shows how many people make it through each step, so the biggest drop jumps out.

### What are rage clicks and dead clicks?

A rage click is when someone taps the same spot again and again because nothing happened. A dead click is a click on something that does nothing. Both are signs that something is broken or confusing.

### What is a before-and-after check?

For changes that can’t be split-tested, or pages without the traffic for an A/B test. Cuttl compares the pages you changed with the rest of your site, before and after the change, so a busy week or a slow month doesn’t fool you.

## How stores, SaaS sites and agencies use Cuttl.

An online store and a SaaS site lose visitors at different steps, so each starts in a different place.

### Online stores

“Why do people add to cart, then leave?”

- Find the checkout step where shoppers drop off
- Watch recordings of carts that were left behind
- Test product pages, delivery messages and buttons

### SaaS and apps

“Why do sign-ups stall after the pricing page?”

- See which plan details people read and which they skip
- Fix the sign-up form field by field
- Test pricing layouts and first-run steps

### Service businesses

“Why don’t more visitors book or call?”

- Check people can find the booking button on their phone
- Shorten the contact form where people give up
- See whether a new page brings in more enquiries

### Publishers and blogs

“Do readers ever reach the newsletter box?”

- Scroll maps show how far people really read
- Move sign-ups to where the attention is
- Test headlines and layouts

### Agencies

“How do I show clients what’s wrong, and what worked?”

- Share recordings and heatmaps of the client’s own site
- Run every client site from one workspace, with client logins on Max
- Report before-and-after results with confidence

### Education and courses

“Why do people browse courses but not enrol?”

- Find the course pages people leave from
- Watch where the enrolment form trips people up
- Test course descriptions and how prices are shown

## Your first week with Cuttl.

From install to your first findings.

### Add the Cuttl Tag

Paste the Cuttl Tag into your site’s head, or through your site builder’s settings. It takes a few minutes.

### Watch it fill in

Recordings and heatmaps start as soon as visitors arrive. There’s nothing to set up page by page.

### See what’s wrong

Cuttl flags problems like broken buttons or a form people quit, ranked by severity, with how many sessions each affects.

### Fix it, then check

Make a change, then test it against the old version, or let Cuttl compare before and after.

## Frequently asked questions

### Who is Cuttl for?

Marketing, product, growth and CRO teams, from businesses with one site to agencies and companies running many. Installing it means adding the Cuttl Tag, a short piece of code, and every finding comes with the evidence behind it and a ranking of what to fix first.

### What is a heatmap?

A heatmap is a picture of a web page coloured by attention: warm colours where many visitors click or linger, cool colours where they don’t. A scroll heatmap shows how far down the page people get before they leave.

### What is a session recording, and is it private?

A session recording replays one session, showing where a visitor clicked, scrolled and got stuck. Cuttl hides form entries by default, never stores visitors’ IP addresses, and doesn’t record login, checkout or payment pages.

### What is an A/B test?

An A/B test shows two versions of a page to different visitors at random and measures which one gets more people to sign up, book or buy. Because the split is random, the difference comes from your change.

### How many visitors do I need?

Heatmaps and recordings are useful from your first visitors. A/B tests need more traffic to give a clear answer, and Cuttl’s planner tells you how long a test would take. For lower-traffic pages, Cuttl compares before and after instead.

### What kinds of websites does Cuttl work on?

Any website where you can add the Cuttl Tag to the page’s head: online stores, SaaS apps, booking sites, blogs, course sites and more. Single-page apps built with React, Vue or Next.js work too.
