Add the Cuttl Tag once in Script Manager. It then runs on your product, category and cart pages.

Where the Cuttl Tag goes: Storefront, Script Manager, Script contents, Head, All pages.

## Add Cuttl in Script Manager

1. Sign in to Cuttl, or create a free account. Add your store with the domain shoppers see. Open the site’s Install tab and copy the Cuttl Tag. It starts with <!-- Start Cuttl -->.
2. In your BigCommerce control panel, go to Storefront → Script Manager.
3. Click Create a Script.
4. Name it “Cuttl”. Set the location to Head, the pages to All pages, the category to Analytics and the type to Script.
5. Paste the Cuttl Tag into Script contents and click Save.
6. In Cuttl, turn on Journey Insights for heatmaps and recordings, or Web Experiments for A/B tests. Admins can do it on the product’s page or in Settings → Plan & usage. A new workspace starts with both off, and until one is on, Cuttl keeps nothing from your site.

New scripts can take a minute to appear on the live store.

## Check it works

1. Open any page of your live site in a browser.
2. In Cuttl, open the site’s Install tab. It shows when data last arrived, usually within a minute.
3. Nothing yet? View the live page’s source and search for app.cuttl.io to check the Cuttl Tag is there. Then check that the site’s domain in Cuttl matches the address in your browser.

## Good to know

- If your store’s cookie consent banner is on, BigCommerce loads scripts in the Analytics category only after a shopper accepts. Pick the category that matches your privacy policy.
- All pages also covers checkout and the order confirmation page. Storefront pages leaves both out, so a goal on the confirmation page wouldn’t count.
- On a Catalyst storefront, Script Manager works the same way: use Head and All pages.
- Script Manager sits outside your theme, so changing themes doesn’t remove the Cuttl Tag.
- To leave out your own sessions, open any page of your site once with ?cuttl_ignore=1 at the end of the address.

## BigCommerce questions

### Do I need a BigCommerce app?

No. The Cuttl Tag in Script Manager is all you need.

### Can I A/B test product pages?

Yes. Change text, images, buttons or layout in the visual editor, and Cuttl shows which version gets more orders.

### Will it slow down my store?

No. The Cuttl Tag is under 1.7 KB and loads the rest in the background, so it never blocks the page.

## See where visitors get stuck.

Free for one site. Add the Cuttl Tag, turn on Journey Insights, and your first sessions show up in Cuttl.
